Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy concluded his Memantha Siddham bus yatra at Tekkali in Srikakulam district on Wednesday, firing fresh salvos at Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and exposing his “fraudulent promises.”
Addressing a large gathering, Jagan Mohan Reddy recounted the welfare schemes he launched during the last five years and how he fulfilled 99 per cent of the YSRC manifesto’s promises during his tenure.
“If you vote for Jagan, all the schemes will continue for the next five years. But, beware, Chandrababu Naidu will end it if you vote for TD. We saw a tsunami of people from Rayalaseema to Uttar Andhra during the bus yatra. Looking at the size of the gathering here, I am sure the YSRC will win all 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
Stating that the credit for door delivery of welfare schemes belonged to the YSRC government, the Chief Minister said his government brought major changes in the education, medical and health sectors. Further, it introduced revolutionary schemes regarding Gram Swaraj, he said.
The Chief Minister said the YSRC government was providing the same kind of education to both the poor and the rich.
“Since Chandrababu does not have anything to claim as his achievements, his job is only to criticise me. But unlike Chandrababu, I will not give fraudulent promises. Do you want a cheat like Chandrababu or an honest person like Jagan,” the YSRC chief asked.
“Naidu made many promises. From loan waivers to farmers and women self-help groups to BC sub-plan with `10,000 crore, a job to every household or unemployment benefit, 3 cents of land to the people, developing the state on par with Singapore, a hi-tech city in every district, `25,000 soon after a birth of a girl child in the family ... all these were promised but nothing was implemented by the TD and its alliance partners,” he said.
The Chief Minister noted that the opposition alliance was coming up with a new colourful manifesto in the name of Super 6. “Are you all ready to save the state from these crooks,” Jagan Mohan Reddy asked.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has travelled 2,100 km through 86 Assembly constituencies in 22 days as part of his Memantha Siddham Yatra. After starting his yatra at Idupulapaya, he attended 16 public meetings and six special interactions with old-age pensioners, weavers, Vahana Mitra beneficiaries and social media activists. He also participated in road shows at nine places.
