Arvind Kejriwal faces Anna Hazare attack; man throws ink on AAP leader at press meet

Anna follower sprinkles ink on AAP leaders; Hazare cautions Kejriwal not to use his name.

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s ambitious Delhi campaign is apparently turning ugly.

Delivering a body-blow, anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare accused Kejriwal of 'falsely' projecting his blessings in Delhi’s election campaign and using his name for fund collection despite a clear 'no' from him.

Kejriwal and his associates also faced ire of an alleged Anna follower who sprinkled ink on their faces during a press meet.

“I have nothing to do with your political party. But I have got inputs suggesting that you are running your election campaign in a manner showing my blessings for you and your party. Questions have also been raised about your fund collection and my name, though I have nothing to do with that,” Hazare told Kejriwal in a hard hitting letter.

Also, raising questions over funds collected during Ramlila ground and Jantar Mantar agitation for Jan Lokpal Bill, Hazare cautioned Kejriwal that it would be very inappropriate to use that for poll purposes.

Going a step forward, Hazare questioned motives of Kejriwal to contest Delhi elections. “Change happens from Lok Sabha where laws are made for the country,” Hazare reasoned. The Gandhian activist also cautioned Kejriwal not to use his name in any form whatsoever.

Ridiculing Kejriwal’s claim to hold an open session of Delhi Assembly at Ramlila Ground to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill, Hazare reminded him that this could be done only through Parliament.

Though Kejriwal, in his response to Hazare, has refuted having used Gandhian’s name on poll trail, the FM radio campaign of AAP appears to be on the contrary. Kejriwal could be heard taking Hazare’s name during his promise to hold an open session at Ramlila Ground of Delhi Assembly.

Kejriwal has claimed that Hazare was being misinformed. Stating that he has been hurt with Hazare’s letter, he noted that all the funds collected for the Janlokpal Campaign had been spent by the time the movement ended.
