Pondy Rangasamy convoy involved in mishap
Chennai: Puducherry chief minister N. Rangasamy escaped without injuries after his convoy met with a minor accident on Santhome high road in the city on Sunday evening. The chief minister was returning to PuduÂcherry after attending a wedding reception.
His car was making its way towards Puducherry, whiÂle an SUV, on its way towards the beach, collided wiÂth the pilot vehicle of the CM’s convoy neÂar the Santhome church aroÂund 9.20 pm, sources said.
Both vehicles were damaged in the impact. The chief minister’s car, which came to a halt hitting the bumper of the pilot vehicle, didn’t suffer much damage.
While RangÂasamy escaped without injuries, the driver and gunman in thÂe pilot vehicle suffered miÂnor injuries and were adÂmÂitted to the government Royapettah hospital. Immediately after the accident, the CM left in another vehicle. The driver of the SUV was identified as Mubarak Ali of Chepauk.
Traffic was disrupted for 30 minutes.
