Actor booked for abusing Dalit
Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Maharshi Raghava was booked for allegedly abusing and threatening a Dalit victim on Tuesday.
The Ramachandrapuram police booked a case against the actor for SC/ST atrocity and criminal intimidation.
The victim, P. Eswaraiah, alleged that Raghava threatened to kill him and abused him when he tried to stop Raghava from cutting trees in his employer’s land, at Kollur, RC puram police said.
“There is a land dispute going on between Raghava and the advertising agency owner from Banjara Hills, Dharaswami. The case is pending in the High Court and the victim was keeping a watch on the land.
As per his complaint, he questioned Raghava when he started cutting trees in the land. Raghava then allegedly abused him and threatened to kill him,” said RC puram Sub Inspector, Ravindra Reddy. The victim, Eswaraiah, works as a personal assistant of Dharaswami.
The complainant claimed that the land belongs to Dharaswami, as he purchased it in 2002. However, a dispute erupted with Raghava as he claimed the ownership. The two acre land is situated at Kollur village, in Survey number 191. Cops have started an investigation into the matter.
Raghava acted in movies like Chitram Bhalare Vichitram, Maharshi and other movies.
