All set for Telangana Bill in Parliament's winter session: Damodar Rajanarasimha

Damodar Rajanarasimha asserts that Telangana Bill will be introduced in the ensuing winter session.

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Saturday asserted that the Telangana Bill would be introduced in the ensuing winter session of the Parliament.

Speaking to media persons after meeting Jairam Ramesh here, Rajanarasimha said that he discussed several issues including packages for backward areas during his interaction with the Union Minister.

He said that the issues of status of Bhadrachalam and Polavaram Project were also discussed.

He said several issues pertaining to the division of Andhra Pradesh were discussed during the meeting.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that the Telangana Bill would be introduced in the next session of Parliament beginning from December 5.

He expressed confidence that the Bill would be passed in the Parliament and Telangana State would be a reality soon.

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Union on Saturday demanded that the Congress legislators from Seemandhra region pressurise the Center to stop the division of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking to media persons after leading a delegation to Gandhi Bhavan to meet PCC President Bosta Satyanarayana, APNGOs President Ashok Babu said that all Congress legislators from 13 districts of Seemandhra region should oppose the Telangana Bill in the State Legislative Assembly and they should also ensure that the Centre keep the State united.

He accused the Group of Ministers (GoM) and Centre of ignoring the massive protests in Seemandhra region against the bifurcation.

Condemning the attitude of Centre towards the people of Seemandhra region, Ashok Babu said that the silence of GoM over the protests was highly questionable and condemnable.

He said that the people of Seemandhra region have invested their wealth in Hyderabad and now they were being thrown out of the city.
