Master Mahendran is back with 'Vizha'
As a child artiste he has won a million hearts in K’Town, and garnered several awards for his skills. Now, he plays the lead role in the film, 'Vizha', directed by Barathi Balakumaran. “Vizha has a very strong script, which is new and fresh for the audience. It’s of a completely different genre. It’s a love story that happens in a very unusual situation. The first 15 minutes of the film itself would grab viewer interest,” says Mahendran. “The love between hero and heroine happens at a funeral, and the journey starts from there.” Why did he choose this script, in particular? “I found it interesting, it offers scope to the performer. I want to sign a film for a purpose,” adds Mahendran. “As a child artist, I won many awards, and most people in the industry know me. But I don’t have a filmi background nor someone who can be my support. I want to stand on my own two feet.” After 'Vizha', his next film titled 'Aakki', he plays the role of a hockey player. Post-production work is going on, and the film will hit the screens very soon.
