There is a first time for everything. Today is going to be big for every Electronic Dance Music (EDM) fan in Kochi. For the first time, Kochi will host three international EDM artistes at the same venue, on the same day in an event called ‘Loud Kochi’ at Dream hotel.
“Vladimir Yershov a.k.a Proff, Alexey Sonar, Ad Brown are the DJs scheduled to perform today. The internationally acclaimed EDM artistes have many fans in India too. They will perform their own special tracks,” says Sachin, CEO of Tenzi FM, the organiser for the event. “EDM is a growing trend, Jazz and Rock were the music of that particular time. It is the turn of EDMs now,” he adds.
Proff is a very senior artiste and is performing in Kerala for the first time. He started playing Trans music and changed to a mix of glitch and trans combo.
Alexy Sonar has worked in almost all the fields in EDM as DJ, producer, promoter and radio show host. He is more popular in India and this is his second visit to Kochi. Both of them work for the record label ‘Intricate’ and are from Russia. Ad Brown plays the genre Progressive EDM and released his debut album Something for the Pain just three weeks back.
“I am pretty excited about us opening for such big artistes. This is a big opportunity for us,” says Stalwart John, who is one among the five local DJs who are playing at the event. Nash, Ashif, Ryan and Anoop are the other DJs who are going to perform at the event.
