Numaish begins in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Just when talks were on for a grand-scale diamond jubilee celebrations of the Numaish for 2015, there was friction between politicos at the launch of the All India Industrial Exhibition.
The president of the Exhibition Society, K. Jana Reddy, gave the meeting a miss.
It is usually the Chief Minister who inaugurates the exhibition every year.
However, Kiran Kumar Reddy was not invited this time, allegedly owing to the Telangana issue.
Minister for IT and communication Ponnala Laxmaiah inaugurated the 74th edition of the Numaish.
Emphasising on how Hyderabad had emerged as one of the most sought-after places across the world for investment, he said, “The city is now preferred over many other cities and has also overtaken China and Malaysia.”
He also mentioned that the Hyderabad model of Numaish had been appreciated all across the country and that many had been asking for data on the logistics.
“Hyderabad is one of the most happening cities in the world. Our Hyderabad Metro Rail Project has been declared the best at New York; our Numaish will be 75 years in a while and so much has been achieved. The year 2014 should be good, not only for the Numaish, but also for the name of Telangana,” Ponnala said.
