The Mahesh Babu kidnap plot

Director Sushant Reddy’s poster for an upcoming movie has set the industry abuzz.
Sushanth Reddy is debuting as director in Tollywood with 'Superstar Kidnap'. And the poster of the movie has got not just T-town, but even Bollywood talking.
The poster, which has gone viral on the Internet, shows three men wearing Mahesh Babu masks.
Did the superstar mind? We ask.
“Before the release of the poster, I put across the idea to Sudheer Babu, brother-in-law of Mahesh Babu and he was excited about the whole idea,” says the 27-year-old director.
He goes on to add, “Using a superstar’s image in movies has always been there, in India and abroad. This actually helps boost the movie even before its release.”
So, who gets credit for the poster, the director or the designer?
Sushanth says, “The poster was conceptualised by me and when I went to Anil-Bhanu, who are considered the best in the industry and who also design almost every poster in Tollywood, the output they gave was exactly what I had in mind. About the credit, it was a team work.”
About the movie, Sushanth says, “It is a conceptual film and the movie is about kidnapping Mahesh Babu. Whether he is kidnapped or not, you will have to wait and watch. It is a crime comedy.”
A Hyderabadi, Sushanth did his schooling from Sri Aurobindo Interna-tional School after which he did a course in filmmaking from Whistling Woods International Institute. Later, back in Hyderabad, he worked as an assistant director for many movies before he wrote the script of 'Superstar Kidnap'.
“My film will speak on my behalf after it is released,” Sushanth says about how much he has learnt in the industry and in the academy.
Apart from being the director, Sushanth has also co-produced the movie along with his friend Chandu Penmatsha under their banner, Lucky Creations. “While directing the movie, I was also thinking as a producer. This way, I knew how to spend and where to spend,” says Sushanth.
“The movie is under post-production and is likely to hit the screens in March,” he adds.
Debutants Aadarsh, Nandu and Bhupal play the lead characters while Poonam Kaur, Tejaswini Madivada and Vennela Kishore play significant roles in the film.
