All CMs ignored Telangana: Kiran
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said in the Assembly on Saturday that no Chief Minister has done injustice to the Telangana region. He was speaking on the Telangana Bill.
Reacting to the allegations that Seemandhra leaders were responsible for removing Telangana Chief Ministers, he said change of Chief Ministers lay in the hands of the Congress high command and not the Seemandhra people. The Chief Minister said, “When we mentioned to the high command that Telangana leaders did not get chance as Chief Ministers, I was asked whether the state should be divided for this.”
Reddy said, “I am the 16th CM of the state. After me, if CMs 17 to 20 are Telangana leaders, I have no problem; there should be no bifurcation of the state. He repeatedly said he was not against formation of Telangana.
He expressed anguish over what could happen if the state is divided. Listing out the problems he said both Hyderabad and Telangana have sensitive areas. During the festive season, Telangana would have to recruit 40 per cent more policemen.
Reddy expressed concern over the problem of Naxalites. He said that if the state is divided, both regions will have Naxal problem. He reminded that the majority of the top Maoist leaders are from AP, particularly the Telangana region. The police force would be weakened if there is a division, resulting in increased Naxal activities. At present the state police has enough strength successfully tackling the Naxal problem.
The Chief Minister added that he had appointed Telangana persons as Advocate General, public prosecutor and two law secretaries to which Seemandhra people had not opposed Reddy said he has put up a proposal of Rs 1,15,000 crore package for the Telangana region before the central government and the Congress high command.
Reddy said he has made it clear to the high command that instead of state bifurcation, Telangana region would be developed. The Chief Minister pointed out that the welfare schemes and development programmes would be badly affected in the both regions after state division.

CM wonders if bill is orignal or just a draft
Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday asked whether the AP Reorganisation Bill which was sent to the Assembly was the original document or a draft.
In his comminiqué, President Pranab Mukherjee had termed it as a “Bill” and whereas the Union home ministry in its note had called it a “Draft Bill”, thus creating confusion, felt the Chief Minister. Without knowing what it was, he asked, how could the House give an opinion.
