Bangladeshi Muslim devotees head to their homes in an over-crowded train after attending three-day Islamic Congregation on the banks of the River Turag near Dhaka, Bangladesh on Sunday.- Pilgrims also boarded a ferry to return home after attending the Congregation.
- The event brought traffic on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway to a stand still with a sea of people marching towards the Ijtema ground for prayers.
- Hundreds of devotees, including women took risks to attend the event by boarding overcrowded buses and trains while others had to walk miles to reach the prayer venue on Sunday.
- A vendor sells paan, a stimulating chewable preparation to devotees.
- Also joining the event was BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who attended the prayers from the rooftop of Atlas (Honda) Factory at Tongi.
- The event was also attended by President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who participated in the munajat from Bangabhaban and Gano Bhaban.
