Mumbai: Bollywood celebrities praised newbie actor Alia Bhatt on her second film 'Highway' and strongly recommended audience to watch the road movie.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali and also starring Randeep Hooda in a pivotal role, 'Highway' hit theatres today. Karan Johar, who launched Alia in the Hindi Film industry with 'Student of the Year', said, "I felt like a proud Parent when I saw 'Highway'... Alia Bhatt is exceptional!!"
Sidharth Malhotra, who starred with Alia in her debut film, wished her luck.
"Must watch my Radha on the Highway tomorrow. Best of luck Alia, hearing great things, very excited, love and kiss," Sidharth tweeted.
Punit Malhotra posted, "Worked with Alia just once and was bowled over by her... And then I watched 'Highway' last night... Pls watch it."
Actor-filmmaker Shekhar Kapur was all praise for the director and the cast. "Two very memorable performances take you down a wonderful journey of their internal lives and anguish. 'Highway' Thank you Imtiaz Ali for the journey," he tweeted.
"Randeep Hooda is absolutely brilliant. Alia is the most refreshing entry into Hindi Cinema in recent times," he added.
Actress Parineeti Chopra posted,"Go go go Aliaa!!! 'Highway is going to be huge and you are going to be the best actress and biggest star ever! Guys dont miss it."
Fashion designer Manish Malhotra wrote, "Now Alia wish you a super success 'Highway'."
