Age no bar for Divya Spandana
Divya Spandana, better known by her stage name, Ramya, in filmi circles, and the youngest MP in India, has always dared to be different from others.
The bubbly girl, who is referred as the ‘Golden Girl of Kannada cinema’, who has performed in Telugu and Tamil films, including Suriya’s Vaaranam Aayiram, recently declared her real age, which not many of her contemporaries do too willingly.
It is a known secret that heroines, especially when they are at the peak of their careers, will not reveal their age under any circumstances. But Divya seems to be a different breed of actress. Perhaps she takes a more philosophical view of the film industry and the harsh conditions it imposes on an actress’s longevity. Beauty and age are related to numbers, but talent is not, and it’s wise to be able to recognise that early to be happy in tinsel town.
Recently, people were wishing her on her 27th birthday, basing their information on web-related sources. It was apparent from these sources of information that she was 27 years old. Divya, known for frankness, had gone on record, saying that she was actually 31 years old, and not 27.
She reportedly wrote on her social networking media, Twitter, that she was now 31 and no more afraid of disclosing her real age. She said that she was, in fact, proud of her age.
The sizzling beauty has also said that for her, people and politics are of the utmost importance, and that she would soon quit films to concentrate on her political career.
