New entrant: YotaPhone now available on Flipkart

Next-generationphones are already in the making. With displays ranging from FHD and UHD to curved ones, we can see it all from the top leading smartphone manufacturers. Yota Devices, a name unheard in the Indian territory, a Russian carrier turned smartphone manufacturer, has also something unique and unthought-of to offer.

Yota Devices unveiled their flagship model, the YotaPhone, which sports two large display panels, one on either side of the phone. While the front sports the regular 4.3-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, the screen on the rear is also a 4.3-inch E Ink capacitive panel (EPD) with a grayscale resolution of 360 x 640 pixels.

The Yota Phone was spotted for a brief moment on Flipkart, which was later pulled down. The smartphone seems to have enter the Indian market, and why not—the phone has something great to offer.

The E Ink Electronic Paper Display (EPD) is always on. Similar to the ones seen on the Kindle, which also sports the E Ink technology, the display is more user-friendly and informative. One can easily see notifications, emails, messages, tweets and much more in real-time without the need for the user to activate the phone. What is also unique is that the E Ink will stay on even if the battery on the phone dies. Yota claims this device to give you a more comfortable reading experience, and the technology and features gives you a smartphone and e-reader in one single device.

Smart apps developed for this phone help you get instant notifications for messages, missed calls, meetings, calendar, weather, reminders, and much more. This dual-screen smartphone is priced at Rs 23,499 on Flipkart.
