Being friends with your ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend can be a tough task. But Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have successfully managed to re-define their equation.
A year ago, Sonam’s not so flattering remarks about her alleged ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor on Karan Johar’s chat show, made it uncomfortable for Katrina to bond with her.
But before things got out of hand, Arjun Kapoor stepped in to iron out the differences.
Close sources say that the actor played peacemaker between his cousin Sonam and good friend Katrina.
“Arjun is very fond of Katrina, she is family for him. He is extremely close and protective of his cousin Sonam too. Naturally, he wouldn’t want any discomfort between the actresses at social events and functions. He made an attempt to make things better and thankfully he succeeded.
Sonam and Katrina are now making an effort to be cordial with each other,” a source says.
Perhaps that could explain why Sonam, at a recent event, referred to Katrina as a friend.
She said, “I admire her a lot. She has done a lot for her family and that’s very inspiring.”
Sonam’s equation with Ranbir might not have improved but their respective families have tried not to hold grudges. They seem to have moved on and full marks to Arjun for playing peacemaker.
