Chennai: At the audio launch of Kadhal Panchayatthu which has newcomers in the lead, ace filmmaker Perarasu advised debut actors not to imagine themselves as a mass hero like Rajinikanth.
He said, “Take one step at a time. This is not only for aspiring heroes, but also for those who make films with debutants. When you keep mass introduction songs which are associated with mass stars like Rajini, Ajith and Vijay, it will only create an aversion in the audience.”
He recalled how a star like Ilayathalapathy Vijay had been apprehensive shooting for his blockbuster, Thirupaachi. “By the time I directed Vijay in Thiruppachi, he was already a big action hero. Despite his stature, when he heard the mass intro song, Nee Endha Ooru, he was hesitant to include the number as he wondered if people would accept it. I convinced him and he did the number,” said Perarasu.
