Ram Charan and Allu Arjun replace Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna?
Chennai: Now, it is a known secret that Mahesh Babu won’t be part of ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s bilingual flick in Tamil and Telugu. Nagarjuna was also supposed to play one of the heroes.
The big buzz now is that the Raavanan director has decided to cast Allu Arjun and Ram Charan, the young stars of Tollywood, who are also cousins.
A little birdie tells us that it’s the better half of Mani, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, who shares a good rapport with Charan’s father, Chiranjeevi, and arranged a meeting between her film director husband and the latter. Chiru and Suhasini have worked together in several Tollywood movies.
A source in the know reveals that the only thing that the mega star asked was to have transparency on Ram Charan’s role. The discussions are still in the initial stages, he adds.
It seems that since the actors chosen are relatively young now, Mani has made a few changes in the script to suit Cherry and Bunny. T’town sources indicate that Allu Arjun has given his consent, but it is not clear if he has been brought on board.
The film was being touted to be the comeback vehicle for Aishwarya Rai who was introduced by Mani in K’town. Shruti Haasan was also said to be part of the movie.
Now, with the change in cast, which heroines would fit in the scheme of action needs to be seen.
