Hyderabad: As the clock strikes midnight on Sunday, 120 main junctions and roads across the city will reverberate with the sound of firecrackers for one hour to celebrate the formation of Telangana as the 29th state of India.
Jaya Jaya He Telangana, the official song of the Telangana state, will be played at Necklace Road, Tank Bund and all other main junctions in the city. With only a few hours left for the big day, the city is in the grip of Telangana fever and people are gearing up to celebrate the historic event.
Special firecrackers from Mumbai have been ordered by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, which is going to form the first Telangana government on June 2.
Fragrant crackers and colourful flower rain crackers are being used for the first time at People’s Plaza on Necklace Road, Tank Bund and other main junctions such as Secretariat, Khairatabad, Panjagutta, Begumpet NTR Circle, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills Checkpost etc. Special teams from Mumbai have been roped in to monitor the fireworks.
While the TRS will be celebrating on behalf of the party, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, on the other hand, has planned exclusive celebrations on behalf of the Telangana government.
All major historical and government establishments such as Charminar, Golconda Fort, Legislative Assembly, Jubilee Hall etc. are being illuminated and decorated.
