Om Vir Singh, was the second party leader to be murdered in four days
Muzaffarnagar: A local BJP leader was on Tuesday shot dead by unidentified assailants while he was out for a morning walk here. He was the second party leader to be murdered in four days, sparking protest by BJP which accused the Akhilesh government of failing to stop “political killings” in Uttar Pradesh. Om Vir Singh, a retired army man who was the vice-president of BJP unit in Mirapur town, was out for a morning walk when two assailants fired multiple shots at him, police said. Following the incident, Singh’s family members and BJP workers staged protests.
