Movie review 'Preethi Geethi Ityaadi': Accident, love and et cetera
The movie lacks pace and more importantly the entertaining factors
Cast: Pavan Wadeyar, Sangeetha Bhat
Music: Veer Samarth
Director: Veerendra
Rating: **1/2
A casual drive ends up with an accident on a highway and the responsible ones leave the victim unattended, who later dies in the hospital. The protagonist drives back to trace about the victim and eventually helps the victim's family and further supports them in difficult times while keeping the actual incident a secret! Isn't it a familiar plot? Yes, Preethi Geethi Ityaadi is exactly based on a similar story line with few changes and a love interest. It resembles the plot of endless several such movies in the past like Dushman, Tum Bin and Hosa Theerpu in Kannada directed by Shankar Nag starring Rebel Star Ambarish!
With expectations riding high on the debutant Veerendra, nurtured and launched by Yograj Bhat under his banner - Yograj Movies, fails to make an impressive beginning while the movie lacks pace and more importantly the entertaining factors.
Whereas director Pavan Wadeyar who debuts as a hero stands out with 'acceptable' performance and so as Sangeetha Bhat. With repetitive story line as a base, the dialogues and the script work too remains shallow, which makes it more painful to watch at times. The maker seems to have stressed too much on the dialogue capability that are usually the highlights of Yograj Movies but unfortunately there are not many to lift the experience of an audience. Not even the humour content provides the much-needed relief and goes on with a plain story telling mode.
The only difference while compared to other similar such projects is that of the love interest in it. Nandini (Sangeetha Bhat) is devastated after her father's death. She has a past love failure too and Pavan's entry in her life gives her a glimmer of hope and falls in love. With guilt conscious pricking Pavan, he finally tells the truth to Nandini's mother. Fearing rejection, Pavan distances from Nandini. The two good numbers scored by Veer Samarth including the popular tirboki takataka are the few saving grace for the movie. Will the accidental love meets the fatal end, watch it with caution!
