Uttar Pradesh law scenario concerns Ministry of Home Affairs
New Delhi: People who were affected by violence in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the Sunday night killing of the two constables in Sailai Road.
Additional forces have been rushed to the area, the police said, adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab the assailants.
Talking to reporters here, Union home minister Rajnath Singh said, “The MHA is concerned over the prevailing law and order in Uttar Pradesh. We are closely monitoring the situation in Uttar Pradesh.”
Minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju also criticised the UP government on the law and order situation there. “This should not be taken as some politics being done by us because their government is of a different party. Whatever the government, whether of our party or of some other party, everybody is worried if the law and order is not good,” Mr Rijiju said.
Slamming the UP government, senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “The result is administrative incompetence. The administrative chaos is clearly visible.” The Congress, too, demanded strict action against trouble-makers and miscreants.
