46 Kerala nurses stranded in Iraq
Deadly clashes had broken out in Mosul on June 6 when ISIS launched its assault there
NEW DELHI: Around 46 Indian nurses in the Iraqi city of Tikrit remain stranded and the government said that its in touch with them. The government reiterated that the International Red Crescent is in touch with the nurses and it has asked them to ensure their security.
On Sunday, the MEA had issued an advisory asking Indians in Iraq to consider leaving the country by commercial means if it was safe to do so in view of the escalating violence there. However, the advisory has come too late for the 40 Indians in Mosul who have now gone missing.
Deadly clashes had broken out in Mosul on June 6 when ISIS launched its assault there.
