Take back unused lands: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao

Mr Rao asked officials to take back unused land allotted by previous governments

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to set up a ‘Special Chasing Cell’ in his office to expedite approvals with ‘zero corruption’ in the upcoming projects and to ensure that there is no political or bureaucratic harassment to potential investors.

He asked officials to take back land that were allotted to various projects by previous governments and lying unused or not being used for the purpose that was intended for.

The special cell will be attached to the CMO and will work as a ‘single window clearance system’ for potential investors.

Mr Rao discussed the modalities of the special cell during a review meeting he held with officials of the industry department at the Secretariat on Friday.

Mr Rao asked officials to identify lands, which are not useful for agriculture and allot them for setting up industries. This would help agriculture and maintain the way of life said the Chief Minister. He asked officials to rename APIIC as TPIIC.

Mr Rao suggested that the industrial policy should aim at encouraging women entrepreneurs belonging to SC, ST, BC and Minorities. In Warangal and Siricilla, he said, textile parks are to be set up. Land belonging to Ajamzahi mills has to be utilised for development of the textile park.

He said, the Telangana Textile Park should be developed along the lines of Tirupur in Tamil Nadu.
