Congress Chief Ministers may be shunted in 3 states

AICC will take final call on Tarun Gogoi, Prithviraj Chavan and Bhupinder Singh Hooda

New Delhi: The fate of Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan remained uncertain on Saturday even after his meeting Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Saturday, with the AICC making it clear that the high command has not taken any decision about his continuance. The current mood in the party, however, is against a change of guard in Haryana.

“No decision has been taken... the chances of his (Mr Chavan) staying are 50-50, anything can happen,” a well-placed source in the party said. The AICC has decided to take a final call on Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi, Mr Chavan and Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda any time in the next week. The party’s performance in these states has been the worst.
