Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana to mentor actors on TV reality show
Mumbai: Actors Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana will turn mentors to aspiring actors for an upcoming reality show 'India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj'. They are the first amongst a slew of film achievers to guide and inspire the contestants.
"I was in their place two years ago when I auditioned for my films and I managed to do three-four films after that. I hope somebody or at least few from all these contestants get films and do very well in their lives," Parineeti told reporters here.
Ayushmann thinks it is a golden era of Indian cinema and anybody with decent amount of talent can be an actor. "I think success and preparation meets opportunity. And there is no dearth of preparation made by young talented actors across the country they just need opportunity. I think this show will give them that opportunity. I am happy to be part of it," he added.
Interestingly, Ayushmann got rejected in 2003 for the same show 'India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj'. "I have no idea why I was rejected. That time I was in teens, I was a 19-year-old unconventional guy out of ten people. I was not six feet tall and a conventional hero type, I looked odd in the company of ten. But today this is the time of unconventionals and I am quite unconventional," he said.
He never thought one day he will mentor the contestants of the same show. "I don't expect much from life," he added. The third season of 'India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj' will be judged by Sonali Bendre and film director Vijay Acharya. It will be hosted by actor and host Hussain Kuwajerwala.
'India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj' hunts for the most versatile, talented cine stars who have it in them to light up the silver screen with their acting prowess and charisma. The viewers who will have as much say as the judges in deciding who will be India's next big cinestar.
"We are happy to have Parineeti and Ayushmann join us on the show in the audition phase. Like Parineeti's journey from being aspiring investment banker to a PR to an actress is remarkable," Zee TV Programming head Namit Sharma said.
"Ayushmann, who is an outsider with no film connection, made it in the industry on the basis of his talent. The insights that they will share will help the budding cinestars," Sharma said.
The 13-week reality series called 'India's Best Cinestars Ki Khoj' will start from July 5 on Zee TV.
