Andhra Pradesh plans to save 20% energy
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh has made the State Energy Conservation Mission a “state-designated agency” to coordinate, regulate and enforce energy conservation. According to the reports of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and the Energy Conservation Committee, there is a scope for saving around 20 per cent energy.
The energy department is banking heavily on energy conservation measures for its long-term strategy for managing power supply. A three-member team of Energy Efficiency Services Limited will visit AP to discuss and work out modalities for energy conservation on Monday.
Senior officials of the energy department will also discuss measures and projects like LED village campaign, institutionalisation of enforcement machinery, organising workshops and training programmes on energy conservation.
