Pooja Hegde, the 5' 9'' tall stunning model who has bagged a dream role opposite Hrithik Roshan in the film Mohenjo Daro, to be directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, has acted in a Tamil film Mugamoodi which released in 2012, and is also awaiting her Tollywood film release, Oka Laila Kosam, with Naga Chaitanya.
News is she has also signed up a Telugu film with Varun Tej, shooting for which ought to begin soon, but it is to be seen whether she will be able to honour the commitment as an Ashutosh Gowariker’s project is surely more prestigious.
“I am extremely happy to have found Pooja Hegde. She is very natural as an actress and has an elegance and poise that will make the character attractive. Both these strengths with a degree of freshness adds the required spark to the Mohenjo Daro love story,” says director Ashutosh Gowariker.
The film’s pre-production is on in full swing and is slated to go on the floor in the last quarter of this year. Though the spotlight is now on Pooja, thanks to the role in Mohenjo Daro, she has quite a few achievements to her credit. She was crowned Miss Universe 2010 runner-up; is one of the most sought after faces in the modeling circuit for the last four-five years.
Her latest commercial with actor Ranbir Kapoor, in the Hero Maestro bike commercial, made many in Bollywood take notice of her. It was Ashutosh’s wife, Sunita, who spotted Pooja and told Ashutosh to audition her for the role in Mohenjo Daro. Pooja is said to be a great fan of cricketer Rahul Dravid.
