Xiaomi is finally here in India with three Android smartphones
The well-known Chinese Android smartphone and tablet brand has finally stepped into the Indian market. The renowned Chinese brand has caused a wave with premium looking and reasonably priced smartphones. Xiaomi launched Redmi 1S, Redmi Note and the much awaited Mi3 in an event in Delhi on Tuesday morning.
The Redmi 1S is a 4.7-incher dual SIM Android smartphone featuring a 4.7-inch IPS HD display panel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 chipset with a quad-core 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and an Adreno 305 GPU, 8GB of internal storage (up to 64GB via microSD card) and an 8MP rear camera. A 2000 mAh battery fuels the Redmi 1S and the operating system loaded in it is a custom Android v4.3 OS from MIUI, V5, from Xiaomi.
The Mi3 is a 5-incher Android dual SIM smartphone with a 5-inch full HD IPS display. The chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 8274AB featuring a quad-core 2.3GHz processor, with 2GB or RAM, an Adreno 330 graphics chip and 16GB of RAM. The rear camera is a 13MP while the front camera is a 2MP. The battery used is a 3050 mAh and the operating system is the same MIUI V5.
Lastly, the Redmi Note is a dual SIM phablet, which features a 5.5-inch IPS HD display. This one sports an eight-core (octa) 1.7GHz MTK MT6592 chipset with a MALI-450 graphics chip and 1.7GB of RAM. The internal storage is 8GB and is expandable. The rear camera is a 13MP and the front camera is a 5MP.
Xiaomi has officially partnered with Flipkart in India with online pre-orders starting today, 15 July 2014. The sales will begin on 22 July 2014. The Xiaomi Mi3 is available for a price of Rs 13,999, the Redmi 1S is available for Rs 6,999 and the Redmi Note will be available for Rs 9,999.
