Bengaluru: There's no end to rape cases in the city
Drunk carpenter rapes 7-year-old
Bengaluru: In yet another case of sexual assault on minors, a seven-year-old girl was raped by a 28-year-old carpenter in Sunkkadakatte near Magadi road under Kamakshipalya police limits.
The accused has been identified as Srinivas, the son of the girl’s babysitter Lakshmamma. According to the police, the incident happened on July 27, when the victim was left at Lakshmamma house in Sunkkadakatte near Magadi road. She was hired by the girl’s mother to look after the child after school hours.
The incident happened when Lakshmamma gone to buy vegetables. After the girl returned home from Lakshmamma's house, she narrated the whole incident to her mother.
The mother then lodged a complaint in Kamakshipalya police station. The police arrested Srinivas and he confessed to the crime during interrogation. A case has been registered under Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code
Also in the city, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour inside her house in Kumara Swamy Layout on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Dahanakoti, 53, a resident of Kumar Swamy Layout. He works as a helper in Om Shakthi Temple. According to the police, Dahanakoti was a close friend of the complainant’s family.
