12 police personnel will receive the Chief Minister’s medal

Chennai: As many as 23 police personnel, including S Lakshmanan, deputy superintendent of police, special division, who was seriously injured during an operation to nab terror suspects holed up in a house in Puttur in Andhra Pradesh last year from Tamil Nadu were selected for President’s police medals while another 12 police personnel will receive the Chief Minister’s medal.
Lakhmanan will receive the police medal for gallantry while the President’s medal for distinguished service will be given to Abhash Kumar, additional commissioner of police, Chennai, Seema Agrawal, IG, railways and S Saraswathy, ADSP, DVAC.
