New release dates are the most sought after thing in Tollywood
Hyderabad: There have been changes in the release dates of many upcoming big-budget films. The Mahesh Babu starrer Aagudu, directed by Srinu Vaitla, was to release on September 26; is now being slated for an October 3 release. Reasons cited are delays in shooting and post-production.
Currently, the unit of Aagadu is in Europe shooting some songs on Mahesh Babu and Tamannah.
Once the shooting is complete, the post-production will take at least 50 days and taking all of this into consideration, the makers are said to have taken the decision of postponing the release to October 3.
While there is no official confirmation as yet, Aagadu could be clashing with the Ram Charan starrer Govindudu Andarivaadele, directed by Krishna Vamsi, which will hit the screens on October 1.
With the change in plans about the releases of these two films, distributors are now complaining about the release dates of Ravi Teja’s Power.
The film which has amazed film circles with a pre-release business of around Rs 30 crore, the makers have scheduled to release the movie on September 5.
This is worrisome for distributors as NTR Jr’s Rabhasa will be hitting the screens on August 29 and they feel that releasing Power just a week after Rabhasa will put them in a soup, the main reason being lack of theatres.
So the distributors have now opposed the present release date of Power and are in talks to push the release to a future date.
The makers are said to have bowed to the demands of the distributors and an official confirmation of the new date is awaited.
