Shweta Basu Prasad not arrested, sent to rescue home
Mumbai: National award-winning actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who was caught in a prostitution racket in Hyderabad on Sunday, has reportedly been sent to a rescue home.
According to a report in a popular daily, a man named Balu, who is an assistant director in Tollywood allegedly helped the actress. He collected a sum of Rs. 1 lakh from each of the patrons who happened to be well-known businessmen from metro cities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police N Koti Reddy was quoted saying, the actress hasn’t been arrested as she was a victim in the case. She has been sent to a rescue home while Balu has been arrested under Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
The actress underwent a medical examination at a government hospital before checking in to the rescue home. Reports state that she will be kept there for three months.
