26,000 bells of light to create Hanuman sculpture
New Delhi: The 25 feet sculpture of Hanuman, made of 26,000 bells was recently installed in New Delhi. This grand piece of art was made to promote Charuvi Design Lab's animated film 'Shri Hanuman Chalisa'.
Indicating the festivities of Diwali , this interactive bell sculpture was a unique celebration of light interpreted in a large-scale.
Charuvi Agarwal, artiste, said: "The project started with an audio track. It was a 30-minute audio track that was sung by Amitabh Bachchan himself and that's how the project took off.
So, first we created an animated piece, which was stereoscopic in nature, and that's from where the idea penetrated that why we don't create base that is an amalgamation of art, technology and mythology. So, that we could re-narrate the stories in a more stimulating way," she further added.
The exhibit also features intricately hand-painted narratives on the traditional kavad, a mobile, interactive shrine traditionally carried from village to village, and rendered in songs of faith.
