I stand here in gratitude: Hrithik Roshan on 'Bang Bang' success

Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s ‘Bang Bang’ is on a big high. The film opened to 27.54 crore on day one, blasting itself into the top 5 openers of all time. The film also recorded the second biggest opening of 2014 after ‘Singham Returns’ and is also the third biggest non-franchise film opening after ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

For Hrithik, ‘Bang Bang’ is his personal best. The film edged past ‘Krrish 3’ opening record easily. The superhero film had collected 25.5 crore net on its opening day.

Hrithik is excited to have broken his own record. He says, "That is so cool. Opening higher than a franchise film like krrish3 and beating my own record is a one way to realize my own growth and strength. But after that it’s not about me, I'm just glad I've been able to entertain my audience. And the entire credit for this humongous success goes to the whole starcast, the entire crew and especially to the director Sid Anand. I stand here in gratitude."
