Vintage tech: The current generation may not even recognize some of them

Gadgets and computers that are outdated may be harder for the new generation to recognize.
Every 90s kid has spent hours and days on this handheld video game device. It used to have a maximum of 5 games in it with the exact same black and white interface, and a really poor sunlight readability, but boy, was it not the best gadget ever!- A Zip drive was one of the first forms of external data backup medium. With 250MB of storage and a soft floppy disk-like material, the zip drive lived a short life span
- Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) were initial forms of movie entertainment which lost fame to laser disks, video CDs, DVDs and Blu-ray disks
- The typewriter, though still in use, was the initial means of documenting hard copies. The printer is slowly driving the typewriter out of service
- The first ever televisions were based on CRT tubes. Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT) were bulky, expensive and used a lot of power, and were also limited to resolution. LCD and plasma TV took over the idiot box

- Before the cell phone, a Pager was the only means of one-way communication for text messaging

- Modem were the initial means of data communication, be it networking, fax or Internet. Modems used telephone lines as a communication medium. However, high speed broadband needs ended in the death of modems

- Where you use 8GB USB thumb drives and 1TB hard drives now, earlier, all we had was a 360KB, 1.2MB and 1.44MB floppy disk
- Dot matrix printers were the first computer peripherals that could print documents from computers. The development of quieter and faster inkjet and laser printers replaced the dot matrix printer
- Disk Operating System (DOS), created by Microsoft, is one of the oldest operating system for personal computers. A graphical interface (Windows) finally took over older, text-based user interface for good
