Samsung phablet war: Galaxy Note 4 v/s Galaxy Note Edge
After launching the two high-end smart devices-Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Gear S, the company also hinted about its new phablet featuring an edge display, named ‘Galaxy Note Edge’, which will arrive in India soon.
So, should you wait for the Note Edge or quickly buy the Note 4? Here’s a comparison between the two phablets of Samsung.
Display, body and thickness:
The newly launched Galaxy Note 4 features a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixel) AMOLED display,with 515ppi pixel density. Whereas, the Galaxy Note Edge differs by 0.1 inch and sports a 5.6-inch (1600 x 2560 pixel) AMOLED screen, coupled with an additional (160 pixel) edge display, having a 524ppi pixel density.

The weight of the upcoming Galaxy Note Edge will be 174 grams and its thickness measures around 8.3mm. However, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 weighs around 176 grams, measuring a thickness of 8.5mm.

The company claims that the Galaxy Note Edge can show notifications on its edge display, even if the screen is locked. Users can also receive notifications directly on the Edge Screen while watching videos without disturbing their viewing, stated the company. The additional display on the right edge of the Note Edge is what makes the appearance look more appealing, as it can be considered as a new eye catching design in the Indian market.

Both the phablets are powered by Snapdragon processor, run on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and has 3GB of RAM. Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge features a 16MP rear shooter/3.7MP camera on its front.
Battery:
Surprisingly the Samsung Note Edge will be packed with a Li-Ion 3000mAh battery, as compared to the Galaxy Note 4, which is fuelled with Li-ion 3220mAh battery. The company claimed that the Note 4 also comes with the fast charging feature, which can charge the battery within 30 minutes.
Availability:
Samsung Galaxy Note 4, priced at Rs 61,500, comes with an onboard 32GB storage capacity, which will be expandable up to 128GB. According to media reports, the Note Edge may arrive in two versions-16GB and 32GB.
The Note 4 phablet is available in four colours, Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink. But if you are thinking of buying the Galaxy Note Edge, one can only choose between its Charcoal Black and Frost White. Samsung hasn’t revealed the price of Note Edge yet.
