Project Ara is a modular smartphone and you can upgrade the components individually
Google’s Project Ara is on track. The smartphone is a modular device which allows the user to upgrade the hardware according to his or her needs. For example, if you want a better camera, you only need to upgrade the camera module on the smartphone. Or if you want a higher definition display or a faster processor, then just change the display or processor modules.
Project Ara will be launched somewhere around Jan 2015.
