I am living my dream, aim to be World No 1 soon, says Sania Mirza
Hyderabad: Sania Mirza who ended her thrilling season with bagging the WTA Finals in Singapore on Sunday, said that she is living a dream. The Hyderbadi tennis sensation interacted with media in her hometown on Tuesday.
Sania said that she and her doubles partner Cara Black could have been knocked out of the tournament in the semifinals, however, immense focus helped them to add one more title to their account. They were trailing 9-6 in the semifinal but maintained their composure to grab a place in the final.
Brimming with happiness over the victory, she said that the best was reserved for the last (final), which the duo comprehensively won.
Sania also said that tennis has given her a lot of chances to fight back. The Indian tennis ace also stated that pressure is an amazing thing and brings the best out of her. “If we keep fighting, miracles happen,” she added. Enjoying a dream run of sorts, Sania Mirza said, “ Fighting for a match point is easier than fighting the critics.”
Sania was earlier labelled as the daughter-in-law of Pakistan. Speaking on the controversy, she said, “The controversy showed me and my family that how much this country supports me. Those few days were tough but it made me tougher.”

Sania thanks Narendra Modi and Telangana CM:
Sania also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his encouragement and support. "Modi is a dynamic personality, loves sports and very encouraging to the athletes," she said.
Sania who is Telangana's ambassador also thanked Chief Minister KCR for appreciating her talent. "For an athlete to get recognition from you state is motivating. Telangana Chief Minister KCR is dynamic, takes quick decisions; I was honoured when he appointed me as the ambassador. I will go and meet the Chief minister, today or tomorrow."
On success:
Sania said, “Success does not happen overnight, you have to work. I have been doing it for last 21 years.”

It’s an amazing drive, it has spread so much awareness, it is spreading to the south slowly. Hope media takes it too and posts videos, Sania said on a lighter note.
Her plans ahead:
I have two to three months at home. I have just come back, will resume training after 2 weeks. Have another tournament lined up, so there isn’t much time to rest.
On her partnership with Cara Black:
Cara and me clicked immediately, she is an amazing tennis player. Our partnership has proved to be fruitful. I have known her for a long time.
