Hyderabad: Talking about the strike by the junior doctors protesting rural service, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the state will wait for the court order and then decide on the course of action. In fact, the CM is keen on increasing the rural service tenure from one to two years.
Meanwhile, a warning letter has been issued to all the junior doctors, instructing them to resume duty by Thursday. Letters have also been written to their parents to intervene. After the warning, some medicos have joined duty, however, the Junior Doctors’ Association denies this. Deputy CM Dr T. Rajaiah had also asked the doctors to get back to work immediately.
Dr P. Srinivas, secretary general explained, “There can be an amicable solution if they end the strike and agree to talk. The junior doctors have failed to realise that they have been striking for a month now. Yet, the services at the government hospitals are not affected. Their study time is being wasted.”
