Yes, you read it right! The recently launched iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will also be available in India. Pre-orders for both these iPads have begun on Flipkart and Infibeam.
Apple has introduced the Touch ID iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3, which will enable you to unlock your iPad with just the touch of a finger and make purchases easily and securely within apps using Apple Pay.
Apple iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 feature a 9.7-inch (2048x1536 pixels) display and 7.9-inch (2048x1536 pixels) display with Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. iPad mini 3 is powered by an A7 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture. The new iPads come with iOS 8.1 including Continuity features across iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite. The company claims that the iPad Air 2 is the thinnest tablet, which measures around 6.1 mm. Apple also stated that the iPad Air 2 offers up to 10 hours of battery life.
The iPad Air 2 is also equipped with the M8 motion coprocessor that can gather motion data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and an all-new barometer, which senses air pressure to provide relative elevation.
Its onboard FaceTime HD camera now captures over 80 per cent more light than iPad Air’s camera, and features burst mode as well as HDR stills and video. iPad Air 2 with Wi-Fi + Cellular integrates even more LTE bands and comes with expanded LTE for up to 50 percent faster cellular connections.
The iPad Air 2 will be available for as low as Rs 35,900 (16GB model). iPad Air 2 64GB and 128GB Wi-Fi only models will be priced at Rs 42,900 and Rs.49,900 respetively. Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi only models of iPad mini 3 is priced at Rs 28,900, Rs 35,900 and Rs 42,900 (16GB, 64GB and 128GB).
iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will be available in three colours - metallic finishes including gold, silver and space gray.
