Tollywood’s favourite destination
Despite Hudhud, Vizag remains Tollywood favourite destination
Visakhapatnam: The city is restoring back to normalcy, and with the onset of winter, movie shootings have resumed in the city post Hudhud, giving a positive hope for Vizag becoming the next Tollywood hub.
Earlier this month, the team of Balakrishna's upcoming film was in Araku to shoot a few important scenes and on Wednesday, the unit of the upcoming Pawan Ka-lyan, Venkatesh and Sh-riya Saran starrer Gopala Gopala wrapped up their schedule in Vizag after a song and a few scenes at the Ramanaidu Studios.
Talking about Vizag as the destination for Tollywood town post Hudhud, producer Suresh Babu says, “Vizag has always been the choice for the film industry, even before its shift from Chennai to Hyderabad. Now, after the state bifurcation, Vizag again is in line for the industry to be shifted. The main reason we planned a schedule of Gopala Gopala is to boost the morale of my team at the studio and also give out a message to the Bengali and Odiya film industries that Vizag is back in action and shootings can be carried out smoothly like Hudhud never happened.”
“Even the greenery is back and Vizag looks like a whole new version of itself. When things are back to normal, why should we not get back to shooting in this beautiful city,” he adds.
Keeping the spirit alive, the unit of Balakrishna’s upcoming film, also starring Trisha and Radhika Apte was back in Araku in the first week of November to continue shooting. Even after the shooting was halted due to the cyclone, the makers of the film decided to start their shooting from where it was left.
Vizag and Araku has always been the favourite shooting destination for Tollywood filmmakers every winter, with the two places having the perfect backgrounds, with Vizag having the beaches and Araku having the caves and the exotic locales.
The makers of Sundeep Kishan's upcoming film are also planning to shoot a few scenes in Araku.
