PK's 'Chaar Kadam' inspired by Ethan Hawke-starrer 'Before Sunset'?
The love ballad is inspired by a lesser known song from a Richard Linklater movie
Mumbai: PK's Chaar Kadam might have become your favourite romantic track of the year but we've got news for you. This Shantanu Moitra composition sounds very similar to a Richard Linklater movie song that came out in 2004.
The song that inspired 'Chaar Kadam':
Starring Ethan Hawke and Julie Delhy, 'Before Sunset' is the second movie in the Before series where Jesse (Ethan HAwke) reunites with Celine (Julie Delphy) in veinna after nine years. Celine then sings Let me sing you a waltz for Jesse. Delphy who is also a music artist sang as well as composed the song for the movie. The song's melody is strikingly similar to Chaar Kadam, though the lyrics are enterly different. Perhaps Moitra wanted to evoke the European feel in this 'PK' song.
Still from the song featuring Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput
Chaar Kadam has been touted as an excellent number that lingers on long after the song is over. While it is a love ballad one can even call it a friendship or companionship song. It's a Shaan show all the way and he pours in emotions through his melodious voice. Shreya Ghosal croons in briefly but leaves an impression. The chorus too is catchy.
While audio of PK has surely and truly lived up to its humongous expectations and one can congratulate team PK in advance for its excellent musical offering.
