Telugu Desam whip could embarrass new minister
Hyderabad: It would be embarrassing for both Mr Talasani Srinivas Yadav if he does stay on in the Cabinet and the government in the coming days if the TD issues a whip to him to vote against a particular Bill or Resolution in the Assembly.
If he does not vote as per the whip of the Telugu Desam, it will be another case of disqualification. If he does vote according to the TD’s whip, he cannot continue in the post for violating the Cabinet joint responsibility norm. It will also be an embarrassment if the Speaker disqualifies him.
Similarly Mr Allolla Indrakaran Reddy, leader of the two-member BSP will also join the Cabinet on Tuesday. He, along with another BSP legislator from Adilabad, had announced joining the TRS long ago.
Both BSP legislators have even submitted a petition to Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary to recognise merger of their party with the TRS and to henceforth treat them as TRS legislators. The petition is pending with the Speaker.
However, there were no disqualification petitions filed against the legislators as the parent BSP did not object to their merger. But in the official bulletin issued by the Speaker, the two MLAs continue to be listed as BSP legislators.
