Pakistan moves its soldiers off Kashmir border, pushes them to Waziristan
New Delhi: The terrorist attack on Peshawar school has had a direct impact on India’s security scenario as well. Intelligence reports suggest that Pakistan has started withdrawing some of its troops from the eastern border along Kashmir in an attempt to rush reinforcements into its western sector, particularly in Waziristan, to fight the Taliban.
Sources said that Pakistan Army top brass, including chief Raheel Sharif, has been opposed to reduction of troops along the border. But following the Peshawar incident, they have been forced to draw up a new security plan.
Meanwhile, Pakistan forces have killed 28 terrorists in the restive north-western tribal region, intensifying the campaign against them after the Peshawar school massacre that left 148 people dead, mostly students.

A security official on Saturday said that jet fighters targeted militants in Tirah valley of Khyber, which killed 21 militants and destroyed their seven hideouts.
Private TV channels reported that Peshawar attack "mastermind" Umer Naray was also killed in the attack but it was not confirmed.
