IAS officers to take charge on January 1

31 IAS officers working in Telangana have been allotted to AP

Hyderabad: The All India Service officers, who were changed from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, will join their respective states on the New Year’s Day. Both AP and TS are preparing to issue orders to those allotted to the other state.

In the latest allotment, 31 IAS officers working in Telangana have been allotted to AP. Similarly, 52 IAS officers working in AP were allotted to Telangana. Both governments will relieve the AIS officers on Dec. 31. The officials of the AP general administration department said there is no need to issue orders to IAS officers individually. Issuance of a common order to all IAS officers mentioning their names is enough.

Meanwhile, both governments may not relieve some important IAS officers, who are allotted to the other state. AP wants to continue with some IAS officers like energy principal secretary Ajay Jain while Telangana wants to retain Poonam Malakondaiah. Principal secretary in AP Chief Minister’s office Ajay Sawhney was allotted to Telangana. Sources said that Mr Sawhney wants to go to the Centre on deputation. It is not clear whether the AP government will relieve him or continue till he goes to the Centre.

AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to revamp the administration by reshuffling the IAS officers and the exercise is on. Mr Naidu will appoint new collectors to Srikakulam, East Godavari, Krishna and Chittoor districts as the present collectors of these districts were allotted to Telangana.
