Karthi polishing his Telugu
We had reported earlier that Tamil actor Karthi, who is also quite popular in the state, will be acting in his first-ever Telugu film, along with Nagarjuna.
Apparently, Shruti Haasan, who missed out on working with Karthi in Tamil film Kashmora earlier, is now being paired with him in this one. A bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, the untitled film is being directed by Vamsi Paidapally.
“It is not a hero-centric film,” Karthi says. “It is a script-driven film, a feel-good bromance, and I am excited to share screen space with Nag sir. I play a city boy. The director has set the story in a metro. Shruti’s role is not that of a typical heroine’s.”
The Biryani star, who is well-versed in Telugu, is yet a little apprehensive. “I have dubbed for my movies Awara (Paiyaa in Tamil) and Naa Peru Shiva (Naan Mahan Alla) in Telugu.
But working in a dual-language film simultaneously with ‘live’ emotions is going to be tough. That’s why I am persuading the team to give the bound volume of the Telugu dialogues in advance,” he laughs.
