First look: Ranbir Kapoor transforms into gun-toting action hero in 'Bombay Velvet'

Mumbai: The wait is finally over! Say hello to Johnny Balraj aka Ranbir Kapoor in the first look poster of the highly anticipated ‘Bombay Velvet’.

Ranbir Kapoor plays street fighter Johnny Balraj in one of the most awaited films of 2015. The actor shed his chocolate boy image for a gun-toting action hero.

Ranbir is seen wearing a suit, shooting guns on the poster.The film also stars Anushka Sharma and director Karan Johar in a full fledged role.

The Anurag Kashyap-directed film revolves around the character of Johnny, who desires to be a Big Shot in life and falls head-over-heels in love with Rosie, a singer. Rosie is being played by Anushka.

'Bombay Velvet', based on historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', narrates the story of how the city in '60s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. Raveena Tandon, who was slated to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage

Recently director Anurag Kashyap denied reports that the film has been postponed again. Kashyap took to Twitter to set the record straight and said that the film will release on its scheduled date that is May 15.
