Hyderabad: Hyderabad police commissioner Mahender Reddy said the 20-year-old woman who wanted to join the IS did not receive any training. “We don’t have any such information. It is not a fact that she joined IS and received training.”
However, the police has questioned her, and counselled her along with her parents. Intelligence sources said that she had plans to join the IS, but she did not proceed after she understood the real situation.
“May be due to the influence of another person and online propaganda, she initially wanted to go there. But, in Turkey, they changed plans,” the officials said.
Meanwhile, a special team of the police is snooping on internet users to find people, who are extensively surfing IS-related material online. “We are scanning all social networking sites to find such people. We are counselling them and their parents,” said Mr Reddy.
