Meet Rosie aka Anushka Sharma, the aspiring jazz singer in 'Bombay Velvet'
The actress will be romancing Ranbir Kapoor, who plays a street fighter in the film
Mumbai: Here’s Anushka Sharma’s first look as Rosie, the aspiring jazz singer in Anurag Kashyap’s highly anticipated ‘Bombay Velvet’. Although there were a couple of pictures of the actress’ look that leaked on the internet last year, this is a clear shot of Anushka’s look in the film.
The actress can be seen sporting a short, stylish bob as well as a fuller pout. Last year Anushka Sharma faced a lot of criticism for going under the knife, however the actress released a statement saying she had been using special lip-enhancing techniques to achieve the look, as it was a requirement for her role in the film.
A couple of days ago the film revealed its first look poster, featuring Ranbir Kapoor in a completely new avatar. The ‘chocolate boy’ transformed into a gun-toting action hero on the film’s poster.
The film also marks director Karan Johar’s Bollywood debut, and he will be seen in one of the pivotal roles of the film. 'Bombay Velvet', based on historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', narrates the story of how the city in '60s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. Raveena Tandon, who was slated to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage
Recently director Anurag Kashyap denied reports that the film has been postponed again. Kashyap took to Twitter to set the record straight and said that the film will release on its scheduled date that is May 15.
