Mumbai: On becoming the first Indian player to hit a century against Pakistan in any World Cup game, Team India's vice captain Virat Kohli didn't show the gesture of kissing in air at pavillion. Instead, he thanked God by spreading his two arms and looked at the heaven.
This could be due to girlfriend Anushka Sharma’s absence. Interestingly, another girl, who had even expressed her desire to marry Kohli may get a chance to meet him during this World Cup.
We are talking about Danielle Wyatt, the 24-year-old English woman cricketer.
In April 2014, Wyatt, the England woman all-rounder, during ICC World Twenty 20, had proposed (via twitter) to Kohli saying, “Kholi marry me”.
"She (Danielle Wyatt) is in New Zealand at the moment and participating in matches,” her father, Steve, said.
“I was aware about my daughter’s proposal to Kohli (he pronounced it correctly). But I don’t know how serious my daughter was then. But (I) can say that she is his fan and both are friends.”
“I don’t get involved in matters like this at the moment. I only look at my daughter’s cricketing career,” he added.
Danielle’s brother Max also posted the duo's photo (they met during India's tour of England) on his twitter account and had said, "this would make a cute couple haha.”
However, she has been following World Cup matches.
"Looks incredible atmosphere at the Adelaide Oval! India boshing it!,” she had posted the message on Twitter during the India-Pakistan match on Sunday.
